It is just a good idea in general to prep for natural disasters in your area. Having a backup power supply, method to cook without utilities is literally the first step to preparing. The people who are getting royally fucked right now are the people who literally did NOTHING to prepare for ANY type of disaster. These are the same type of idiots that rode out hurricane Katrina then cried when they were stuck in their house.
