Not an answer to your question but interesting tidbit: there are paintings from the last mini Ice Age that show horse drawn carriage sleds full of people gliding across frozen rivers which have never frozen since that time period. Was fascinated when I learned that in Art History class 40+ years ago. Those paintings were the reason why I knew that there had been a mini Ice Age.
