The only way to remove a senator from office before their term ends is through expulsion, which must be voted on by two-thirds of the Senate.

Good info. At least he should know soon enough and we'll know soon enough just how unpopular he really is.

He already knows. He doesn't give a shit because he knows there aren't nearly enough people in the Senate to vote to remove him and the Dems aren't going to vote to remove because they know his replacement probably won't be a RINO like Romney is.

SEEMS LIKE THE STATE SHOULD HAVE THE POWER TO REMOVE A SENATOR WHO IS NOT WORKING FOR THEM. IF NOT, THEN THERE NEED TO BE SOME LAWS CHANGED. TALK ABOUT A RIGGED SYSTEM.

They do, but it requires 2-3rds vote.

UNDERSTAND. I AM SAYING THAT IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. LAW SHOULD BE CHANGED. THAT IS FEDERAL POWER TO REMOVE A SENATOR. STATE SEEMS PRETTY POWERLESS. IN GENERAL, STATES NEED TO EXERCISE MORE STATE SOVEREIGNTY. WE NEED TO REDUCE THE SIZE OF THE FEDERAL GOV. BY ABOUT 90%.

Good old 17th amendment. We should start a movement to repeal it with the first successful state called constitutional convention. Senators used to be recalled by state legislatures all the time (before the 17A the average senate tenure was less than 3 years because they would be recalled if they voted wrong, or the political winds changed in the state). The progressive movement of the early 20th century was as much of a garbage failure as the modern progressive movement. They were the same assholes who did the 18th Amendment (Prohibition of Alcohol).

Is that a vote in the KY state senate or US Senate? If it's the US Senate, we already have at least 50 votes to expel unless the Uni-party is so unified that even the demonrats wouldn't vote against him.
