I am originally from NJ and while i hate the northern part of the state and their dem bullshit they have a really solid grid. 51 percent nuclear, 43 natural gas and the rest other stuff. Texas needs to go nuclear which is the only true renewable solution. Texas has no natural disasters that can impact nuclear like earthquakes. Also nowadays nuclear is very safe no chance to explode like chernobyl.
