I get the retardedness of city people burning 2x4s for warmth, but can someone explain the Ring neighborhood alert thing? Wtf is it? From Ring, or just any local Ring owner can broadcast an alert? I don't have Ring because Silicon Smart Home Spy Tech can go fuck itself.
I've got the ring doorbell. I've actually tried posting one once to report the neighbors about our drunk neighbor trying to get inside of people's houses and whoever it is that approves them declined the alert. I called ring and they said it's a randomly assigned "neighbor" that approves what is sent.
So my answer was fuck the neighbors then. I pay for ring because it's $10 a month for monitored home security and it saves me $500 a year on home insurance by having a monitored alarm system.
