So power companies understandably decided to to take the liability of being blamed for burning the state down whenever it gets hot, dry, and windy.
The black out we had was on the entire west coast. It we had weather like Texas right now back than it would of killed a bunch of people. But, it was the middle of summer so no airconditioning.
The power going out means people WILL die as a direct result. That is true. Please people if you're sensitive to elements because your health or whatever is compromised have a plan. No matter where you are in life just try and plan and expect thigs like this to happen.

No kidding, PG&E went bankrupt over this. Given potential bankruptcy over liability claims, I would be shutting down power as well.
but if power companies go out of business that means more less-expensive electricity for everybody, right?
