I don’t see the main difference as being conservative/liberal or left/right. The biggest difference is red pilled/blue pilled. If someone is fully blue pilled they are impossible to talk to. They live in a completely different world and nothing you say or show them will ever break through. This goes for blue pilled right wingers as well.
There are a lot of at least partially red pilled progressives. I can talk to them. Can’t talk to a fully blue pilled person.

I think everyone here understands what it used to mean to be classically "liberal". Back then we could all agree that we love our country and our flag and we basically wanted the same goals but tended to disagree on how to get there. Now as others have already stated, "liberalism" has been co-opted by extremists. I feel the same about liberals now as I feel about Muslims - the non-radicalized need to stand up to the extremists before I'll be more willing to believe there is any true differentiation between the two. As long as you keep allowing the bullies and thugs to speak for your party, you are functionally all the same.
