Hey pedes, just wanted to vent for a moment.
I just got home from a (rare) job interview where I'm 99% sure I won't be offered the job. I'm tired. I'm tired of applying to hundreds of jobs and not hearing anything back. I'm tired of having my time wasted with interviews companies have just so they can say they searched for applicants right before they hire the boss' nephew. I'm tired of job postings with whole paragraphs dedicated to how diverse and inclusive they are, and how much they adhere to tyrannical covid guidelines.
It just feels like there's no place for me. I even considered joining the army, but I couldn't bring myself to work for a government I don't respect. Before 2021 I wanted to move to the USA with all you wonderful people (I'm Australian), but covid restrictions locked that down, and now with Biden in charge I'm reticent.
At this point I kinda just want to die in glorious battle defending the Republic. It just feels like straight white males have no place in modern society.
Anyway, that's my blackpill for the day. I can only hope the Trump Train gets so loud and so fast it wakes up the normies and there'll be at least on place in the world that hasn't succumbed to the false song of globalism.
I do love it when pedes from another country respect GEOTUS. Good luck brother. Godspeed!
Australians have been stuck in the boomercons vs socialists paradigm for decades now; those in the know know that we need a real leader to show Australians what true liberty really is, just like Trump did for ya'll.
Try a temp agency. I don't know the details of the specific line of work you are in but there's an equivalent for every industry. I worked for years like that, underemployed but diligent and making a good impression on short jobs that only lasted a few days to a month. When something permanent finally opened up it was my dream job and they gave it to me without even having to interview.
I also agree to change your line of work to something more in-demand. I was a substitute teacher in a large city for a few years which I resisted for a long time because I didn't want to be a teacher. I suffered a lot because when I graduated from college Obama passed some law that resulted in millions of people in the USA being cut to part-time workers, so I couldn't find full-time employment for years. I sent over 700 resumes. With Biden in office I expect more of the same. These tips helped me until things looked up so that's why I want to share them with you.
Don't buy into media lies my dear - they exist to demoralize and misdirect. Do not give up and do not give all your hope and devotion to any earthly institution, because they do not act in your best interests. Trust in God and draw closer to Hi. Jesus Christ is the only human who ever lived and died for mankind. Strengthen your spirit. God Bless you, we will always listen to venting.
Preach, sister.
Hang in there. 🙏🏼
what kind of job are you looking for?
I'm trained as a visual designer; originally wanted to get into game design. Ended up working in kitchens and landscaping because of market oversaturation.
Work for yourself. Its so gratifying and freeing.
Advertise landscaping. Approach people you've worked with before.
Not being dependant on the system gains you freedom.
Working for myself would be ideal, it's finding people to pay me for that work that's the hard part. Self employment also doesn't help me if I'm trying to get over to America when Trump gets rightfully reinstated (or for the boog, whichever comes first)
Yeah I did Fiverr for a bit but totally undervalued myself. The second thing you mentioned I actually did; I'm helping out a local business owner with menus. Won't pay enough for rent with just the one client, but it's a step in the right direction I guess.
heh thats pretty cool. I guess you could also do ux
Obtaining a job is effortless if you have the right career. Might be easier if you change careers.
I had exact same problem less than 10 years ago, until I changed my line of work. Also, make certain no one stole your identity and racked up criminal charges, bad debts, etc.
Just add "experienced with blockchain technology" to your resume, hired in no time, regardless of the field.
How did you get into the country? How long did it take? From where in Australia? What are your job skills? Don‘t leave us hanging like this. This is not a good time to be in this country. We are commie now. There will be huge unemployment here over the next four yrs. Try Florida...I hear business is booming in Palm Beach
I'm still in Australia; plans to move got thwarted with covid lockdowns. So here I am, stuck in my british prison colony.
you can freelance. you can create your own projects. you can join projects with others for no pay, just exposure and experience. volunteer at local charity/church/community. all on the side.
create your portfolio website asap. ask for feedback.
learn more skills. SEO, coding, databasing... auto repair, plumbing, carpentry... cooking, cleaning, farming... workout, lift weights, martial arts... be creative, be active, be a stud... do not drink or drug... do things that make you proud of yourself... and do a good job at whatever you are doing so you can be proud of yourself...
people want local, english speaking designers for their communication skills, schedules and accessibility. otherwise, they'd outsource to a million foreign designers. make sure you're a good person to work with. negativity, low self esteem and entitlement are big red flags, stamp those traits out asap.
stop whining. "99% sure" blah blah, you'll guarantee failure with that attitude, which i'm assuming you had going in to the interview.
read or listen to robert glover's no more mr nice guy. over and over. same for jordan peterson's 12 rules. then 48 laws of power. then how to make friends and influence people. and listen/watch tony robbins in between.
There is a place for you.
All this diversity and covid stuff is simply God's way of narrowing the path for you so you go directly to where you need to be.
There are many MAGA places out there. I would like to help you out.
Straight white men are so sexy!
I looked for a job in Australia once, it was hell.
I feel ya brother.
