In the early days I give people a pass because it's a new thing and there will be fuckups. But as time goes by you expect people to correct the fuckups. So if the fuckups continue, people in charge are either stupid/incompetent or malicious. Based on the timeline I'm leaning towards malicious.
"How can they get away with it?"
Because the media protects them. It has to be highly organized with widespread (monopoly) control. From March to very late April 2020, almost no one in the media asked anything about putting infected people into nursing homes. With signs on overpasses and nursing home workers screaming about it, he was finally asked about the policy in late April, and he said about nursing homes "They don't have the right to object!" That video went viral and finally shamed him into acting, so changed the policy on May 10th. But still the media was campaigning for him, telling us how smart and great he was.
There are many nursing homes. Cuomo could have put infected patient into separate nursing homes but he didn't, he kept them mixed. Trump gave Cuomo a giant hospital ship, it went largely unused. Trump gave Cuomo a field hospital on Central Park, largely unused. Trump gave Cuomo a giant field hospital at the Javits Center, largely unused. Trump gave Cuomo a giant $23million hospital in Brooklyn, completely unused - not one single patient. All while stuffing infected elderly people into nursing homes. This went on for quite some time, and the media was silent.
In January we knew that there was a highly infectious respiratory virus that targeted old people coming out of China. Trump understood the risks and acted to close some travel in late January. The Left called him racist and told people to go out all thru February. By early March some hospitals in Italy were beyond capacity, so by then it was clear to everyone that there was some risk of a catastrophe. On March 25th Cuomo implemented a policy that forced nursing homes to accept patients infected with a highly infectious respiratory virus that targets old people. At this point, there is a huge opportunity for an honest journalist to ask pertinent questions. There are thousands of (so-called) journalists. No one asked the right questions. For weeks. They did the opposite, they protected Cuomo. All of them. All thru late March, into April, thru all of April. The policy wasn't changed until May 10th. Look at the chart at the bottom of this page for when people died in New York:
Someone or something must have total or near-total control over the media. Where are the real journalists? The media bent over backwards to blame Trump for the deaths and hold Cuomo up as the model of what to do. They are working together, treating people worse than livestock. They are working together. Nationwide. Worldwide. The story was only allowed to break mainstream after Trump was out. There must be total control of the media. No other explanation.
The cdc said the hospitals could be crowded based on projections, but that doesn’t mean stack COVID patients with non COVID patients. They could have chosen not to believe the projections, like desantis, and if capacity was running low built more capacity or find some place to put them.
New York and MI had freaking empty emergency hospital set ups that got closed down because of disuse when this was going on. On this topic I find the circle of liberal defense goes: "the hospitals will over flow!!!", "Well, the CDC said you can have a COVID patient in a nursing home!". So funneling them in when there are better places is justified? --enter loop of blaming the CDC/Trump.
Perhaps time for pedes to organize local Nursing home support groups. In my state of MI where they funneled COVID patients in, the News led me to find the nursing homes were hell holes before that. We had an F grade before. Anecdote from the News was the first inspection found a bunch of vomit lying in one of their rooms, then when they did the follow up 1 week later the same vomit was still there. Then there are the stories of elder abuse. Besides trying to do a good deed, it might help for pede groups to get involved in their community...
How can any of these psychos defend putting sick people in nursing homes?
Who would do such a thing? How can they get away with it?
Because we dont a actually care. Now back to work. You have your country's destruction to fund

Look at that spike in April.
