Power grid is on the brink of complete collapse, the power companies are gouging consumers on energy they are not providing, lakes are frozen, cattle are dead, next up looks like gas is being turned off which will ensure more millions will be left in the cold. This isn’t “shut up, it’s only a winter snow storm” it’s a deep, rapid freeze that has bursted pipes and compromised the entire states energy grid. Think about mom and pop towns with one grocery store and it has had no power for three days....think of all the spoiled food Essentially Texas is facing a trifecta of power, water and gas all simultaneously failing in a significant part of the state. And Beto is banging the drum “Republican leadership did this, I’m running for Governor”
Democrat opposition to nuclear power. Nuclear is the cleanest, safest, most efficient source of power and the Democrats hate it.
It is the future. However, dumb people stuck in last century tech have dictated energy policy and how to deal with nuclear waste. It is recyclable and reusable instead in the US we just store it.
South Carolina tried building a new Nuclear plant a few years ago. After spending $$$BILLIONS they scraped it saying the design wouldn't work or some such nonsense and I think Westinghouse declared bankruptcy and didn't have to give any of the money back. Something like that.. Energy customers were on the hook for the $$Billions they never got anything out of.
Building just one nuclear plant is a waste. It's only affordable at scale.
