This is just terrible. Abbott and the Texas GOP are getting massacred on social media. And Beto is pouncing on this opportunity to present himself as a savior and a great alternative to Texans.

Democrat opposition to nuclear power. Nuclear is the cleanest, safest, most efficient source of power and the Democrats hate it.
It is the future. However, dumb people stuck in last century tech have dictated energy policy and how to deal with nuclear waste. It is recyclable and reusable instead in the US we just store it.
South Carolina tried building a new Nuclear plant a few years ago. After spending $$$BILLIONS they scraped it saying the design wouldn't work or some such nonsense and I think Westinghouse declared bankruptcy and didn't have to give any of the money back. Something like that.. Energy customers were on the hook for the $$Billions they never got anything out of.
Building just one nuclear plant is a waste. It's only affordable at scale.
