You're error is in thinking 1) they were truly blindsides (this shit was out there; they just didn't want to see it); 2) they will ever admit to voting for a racist.

That's ok...most sane people think the world runs on sanity...but it doesn't. For example, people thinking a vote for Joe Biden was a vote against racism.
