The counter to this is that the turbines in Colorado etc are specifically designed to continue operating in subzero temperatures. Those modifications cost money and there’s not really a need to get them if you’re worrying about it being 100F with a million percent humidity instead

Waste is basically impossible to spill. They had a test where they smashed a train into one of the storage containers, destroyed the train, didn't have any leakage.
A nuclear plant in a long term investment. Like 20 years ROI. So you need to last a long time to get profits. You last a long time by having a strong safety record, by not irradiating your neighbors, etc etc.
Diversity and AA hires aren't really a thing on the technical side of it, especially since everyone will be security checked. The diversity AA hires will be on the HR and PR side of it
