While classical liberalism, of which most libertarian strains claim to represent, was an influence on the Founding Fathers, classical republicanism (along with virtù) was the dominant worldview. Imo, probably only the major FF who could be described as having a worldview that was more classically liberal than classically republican would be Thomas Jefferson. He absolutely did not agree with Hamilton's economic views, at least until he became president and then later after we got our asses whooped by the British in 1812

And that's another problem with libertarianism, its not ideologically consistent. HHH's take on it seems especially torturous, starting with getting everyone to agree to a specific social contract - and if you don't, you'll be ethnically ideologically cleansed from the nation. To make this work, some centralized group will have to make a determination on who's espousing wrongthink, and then determine on how to coordinate their physical removal. Sounds like the beginnings of totalitarian government to me
