Texas greenies have been focusing on unreliable sources (wind solar), and less on reliable. When they tried to bring coal plants back online it was too late-frozen.

he may be concern trolling, but he's not completely wrong. my guy and i were reading up on this last night. ercot, which is a non-profit, and they are in charge of scheduling/performing maintenance and doing checks on the state grid; due to "covid" none of the checks were physically done; they used computer simulations. these guys are a "non-profit" which i take to mean, there's no profit bc they're cutting corners and siphoning $ into offshore accounts. and they don't even live in tx, so no skin in the game. they are meant to report to the state energy dept. and the legislature...so a whole bunch of people, both conservatives and the green weenies, "couldn't be arsed" and you've got the current situation.
Delayed maintenance = didn't do it. Reasonable conversations are always good to have. The idea that TX conservative values are to blame for this cold spell is a liberal gaslighting narrative to use the suffering of people to further their evil agenda. They will use any crisis and tie it to conservatism and then offer you the solution (i.e. more transgenders in office). That will solve the cold spell
