My daughter asked me to stop sending her proof that the coof is fake news. I said ok because I love her and now feel like I've been contributing to her stress levels.

If I was a smidge more callous I would have sent her this...

"No. You're in your mid twenties and have judged me by your ignorance.

Nothing I've shown you was a lie. Nothing.

Yet you choose self imposed ignorance, comfort, over reality.

This country is at war. You are living in a failing society that is being controlled through media, education and chemical manipulation. "

I wish I could send her this but I now know she would just check out mentally in the first few sentences.

I miss you, kiddo.

Lefties leave loved ones behind. Conservatives don't, unless the lefties insult us.

About half of my family is far left, other half far right.

It's the far left who seem to impose their views on the rest, and say very nasty things about Trump supporters on social media.

With that said, those who are liberal but still kind and loving are always welcome into my life.

One of my best friends is almost a self proclaim MEd communist or full blown socialist.

That's what he believes in, and we 100% disagree.

But we're bros, and have each other's backs in life.

The reasons he's a socialist and I'm not, is here's in his mid 30s, dropped out of highschool despite being in a nice white suburb school, has a low paying pizza job, rents a house, and just doesn't have an "easy" life.

I will give him this: his parents weren't great, and having not so great parents does make life harder.

Those of us with great parents are lucky.

Point is, he's a socialist because he doesn't want to own up to his mistakes in life, and doesn't want to change to make more money.

He wants more, but doesn't want to work for it or gain skills.

I on the other hand just hit my mid twenties... I've been self employed since day 1, with my dad and brother.

Property renovation / management company.

I'm close to $27 an hour, and when we sell side jobs, $40-50 an hour.

I'm very happy with where I'm getting to in life.

Bought my very first rental property!

Paid $13. Put in less than $10k. It's worth $55k+!!!

I got it for a steal which is unheard of in NY in the Trump era of high prices, but because we maintained the house for the former owner, my dad's friend for a decade, he gave us a solid deal and helped me to own my first home.

So that's so great. Life for me is getting better each and every year

And I credit my parents, brother, and my own hard work.

Good parents are the number one "privilege" in life.
