The Republican Party has a tendency to work as follows: follow the constitution and the agenda left behind by the most popular member from the past who got shit done.

Reagan’s agenda ended with Bush with the Warhawks subverting out party. Whoever was the next Republican President would likely set the new agenda and way forward for the party. Besides that we keep following the constitution.
