Even when you know it's coming eventually, you still hope it comes later rather than sooner, and nothing really prepares you for when it actually happens.

I'm usually 'oh, well that's sad' when big names I actually care about die, but I can't say I really feel all that much.

This, however...I'm feeling it. It really is like losing a loved one, even without having ever met the man.

i knew it was coming soon because he'd been off the show and thought i was prepared for it but when i tuned in today and heard Kathryn's announcement, i bawled like a baby

Amen. Even the passing of Clark Terry didn't hit me like this.

(Who is Clark Terry? A warm and wonderful human being who was, among other things, the voice of the teacher in Peanuts cartoons)
