I can remember decades ago Rush saying he would remain on the radio until he died, and he damn well fulfilled that prediction.

Rush is literally the guy who taught me that you had to love your job. Nothing else mattered by comparison when choosing a career. If you had the passion, success would follow. I chose to follow that advice at a time when I was making poverty level income in my 20s, and now I make 6 figures from my home on the coast doing something I love, and I have always given a great deal of credit to Rush as silly as that sounds to some people. He was right. I dove into something I loved, and success actually came rather quickly. It was just that easy.

He also helped teach me personal responsibility. Life is a LOT less miserable when you choose to accept responsibility for your own plight in life and quit blaming "society" for anything and everything. I can remember one of his exact quotes, "Society is merely the sum of its parts". I still steal that from him all the time.

I hope Rush knew that he legitimately changed people's lives.

God knows. God sees. The God who sees, Jehovah Roi, may you grant Rush a glorious entrance into your everlasting kingdom ...
