My memories of Rush are not tied to a single moment but tied to memories of my Father. He would listen daily while we were growing up. I would catch parts here and there as he would drive me to and from school stuff. I actually borrowed and read The Way Things Ought To Be from my Dad when I was in HS or College. Anyways I just sort of grew up and did my own thing but when my Father passed in 2015 I started listening partly as a way to reconnect with memories of my Dad. Very quickly started listening every day and have been ever since. Now with Rush gone, I feel a bit lost and alone.

I understand. I wasn't able to faithfully listen to him all the time but when something crazy or upsetting would happen in the world, I knew I could tune into Rush and he'd somehow make it seem a little better. Now the world seems emptier.

Great story. Thanks for sharing.

We all feel a little lost right now, with the current state of affairs. .
But you are not lost alone, Pede

I remember his tv show. I was in college and working part time. My dad would tape his show (on vhs tape!) and we'd watch it together when I got home late at night. Made me laugh so much. God bless Rush.

I remember Rush's show like it was yesterday. Things will be different now ... because we will continue his work to analyze, question and inform.

In my early 20's, I was a long haired, dope smoking, maggot infested punk rock skater working menial labor jobs. My landscaping team could not agree on music so the foreman played talk radio all day. It was the summer of '94 and Rush's show changed my life for the better.

That's an amazing story. FATE LUCK CHANCE that it was Rush's show, but the effect was not surprising.

Just this year on his show he fascinated me with the true story of the first Thanksgiving. Everyone should hear that. A true Patriot! Sorry he had to see what traitors the republicans really are especially since 11/4 & 1/20. It probably killed him faster. Rest in Peace Patriot.

It really did likely kill him sooner than otherwise. The stress from the past few months quickened his death

Now I'm going to look for it!

EDIT: I guess you're not the only one who was struck by it. A female family member just narrated the story for us upon Rush's death.
