…..did not most people on this site celebrate the death of RGB in the same way we are complaining about the left celebrating the death of our beloved Rush?? I remember nothing but threads spewing hate and celebration about the death of RGB here. We can't sit here and focus on and complain about what they are saying about the death of Rush.
Let us not be hypocrites....and instead let us remember everything this man did for our country, our party and our movement. Let us celebrate his life and his legacy. Let us not forget, ever, what he has meant to all of us. Who cares what others are saying?
In my opinion, these two cases are comparing apples and oranges.
Those who celebrated RBG's death did so as a result of her ACTIONS, and the effects that these actions have or could have upon their lives.
Whereas those currently celebrating the death of Rush, are celebrating because they disagreed with his OPINIONS, which they could have completely ignored and not allow to effect their lives.
As for myself, when RBG died I watched the crab rave video, and said to myself "she's dead, good riddance" at which point I no longer cared.
The primary difference, other than one hated for actions the other for opinions, is the direction of the celebrations, the majority of the celebrations over RBG would have been primarily for making memes and amusing people. Whereas the celebrating over Rush is directed towards those who are grieving, and primarily out of spite and malice.
Intent should always matter, as should the difference b/t actions and opinions.
