The diesel tip is good, but for today's yuppy a warning about EVs is likely more practical. Your EV is going to get 50% (or less) of its advertised range when its 0 degrees outside. It'll be even worse if you're cranking the heat (all the glass on those Teslas makes sure you need to crank the heat).

If you're going out driving in an EV in the cold, make sure you have way more range than you need for the trip because you'll have far less than you think.
