I understand the inverted cross is also used to denote some type of Satanic activity; nevertheless, an upside cross is called the Cross of St. Peter or the Petrine Cross used in Catholic symbology. When Peter was about to be crucified, he asked that it be on an inverted cross because he did not feel worthy to be crucified in the same way Christ was.

So I feel like I would be more inclined to give the benefit of the doubt if they were actually living out Catholic beliefs, one of which is not using artificial contraception. However, they launched Family planning 2020, a global effort to make artificial contraception available to 120 million poor woman by 2020. Now, I'm not opposed to this as I'm not Catholic, however, if one is such a devout Catholic that they wear the Cross of St. Peter then I would think they would not be helping provide contraception, something that goes against all Catholic teaching that I'm aware of.
