Personally, they're not asking for anything anymore. The government-backed loans have already been paid for by the tax-payers. That money was already paid and gone to their schools. What they're asking for is debt forgiveness, and I'm fine with that if it means young folks can buy a house instead.
We give the Military Industrial Complex billions of dollars in free money every year. We give money away to ass-backwards countries every year. We give away billions in food stamps and public housing every month. The government is literally paying the rents of millions of Americans every month.

I’m against us giving the military industrial complex money. I’m against the US involvement in basically every military conflict we are in or have been in in the last 30 years.
The government never should have been giving student loans to begin with. Their involvement is the #1 reason college is so expensive now. But they have given and continue to give them on the condition that they be paid back. So what’s the plan now then? Take $50,000 of tax payer money, most of which comes from the middle/working class, give it only to people that currently have student loans, nobody else gets anything, people that are entering college next year get nothing, just this one special group right now gets it all paid off. Sounds like a bunch of people get fucked and another bunch wins the jackpot.
