Civil cases only need a preponderance of evidence, which means more than 50% evidence points to him "doing" the crime. Criminal trials require "beyond a reasonable doubt", in which it's roughly 97-99% sure he "did" it. Therefore, it's good news if these civil cases are already dismissed, as they hold a lower bar for guilty.
The families wanted to sue him for wrongful death so that he would have to pay the families. Generally, it requires the victim to be nearly devoid of fault. In Kyle's case, every one of the victims held at least some blame for their own deaths.
The criminal charges are totally different. In criminal cases, two opposing people can be charged for the same criminal event. In fact, it can get much more messy than that. It matters much less how much the victim deserved the harm in a criminal charge, which is where Kyle is the most vulnerable.
Kyle still needs to prove with some level if certainty that he wasn't trying to harm the victims but merely protect himself. I want to see him released because he only fired when they started beating on him, but under the law, he might have accidentally murdered the skateboarder. But it was after he was potentially concussed, which might be an affirmative defense. Either way, I think we're going to need to fix the self-defense laws in Wisconsin after this incident.
If that's what you saw, then yeah. Skateboard dude tried to grab the gun while Kyle was holding it. He yanked it toward himself while Kyle's finger was on the trigger. Physics being what it is, the gun then fired because he had pulled the trigger into Kyle's finger as he was pulling it toward himself. Bullet enters his chest, he lets go and turns around to run, takes about 4 steps, then falls over.
Not advocating anything here, but seems like the guy who dropped 3 guys is gonna get off scott free, while those that protested peacefully in DC are not.
Listen here you. Go watch the video and tell me he 'dropped' them.
Kyle was fleeing every second of every individual confrontation. He defended himself and showed situational awareness by not spraying the crowd, he shot the people who attacked him. He didnt shoot first. He tried to flag down the police. He turned himself in. It wasnt his gun, but was given to him by an adult. (Who could be considered his guardian) He worked in the city, as a lifeguard, so it was not odd that he was there.
Motherfucker did everything right. The only way any of this could of been avoided was his not being there at all. But like a good Boyscout kyle wanted to go and do that helping people thing. What an asshole amiright?
Fuck off. Watch the video.
It's very similar to how if someone trespasses on your property and you have castle doctrine, it's better to kill them so they can't sue or defend themselves in court.
Self defense against a pedophile, a domestic abuser (both fortunately dead) and a carjacker, and they want to throw the book at him?
Jeez...
Because the people he shot were criminal agents of the ones who write those books.
3 out of 3. What are the chances of that?
Actually, pretty high when you realize what Antifa ACTUALLY is.
A straight up terrorist organization like Al Qaida, Hezbollah, taliban, and kk
I watched them terrorize Chinese American citizens protesting against the ccp.
A terrorist (street fighting) organization started by WHO to the benefit of WHO?
Check out the history of Antifa and you will have your answer.
And all released from prison mere weeks before the riots started. Hmmm.
Truth
Gonna be hard for that carjacker to get him a nice free ride with one fucking arm.
Hanging wallpaper is probably out of his skills set.
Annnnd??
Stormfag. Take your sockpuppets and leave
Based
Underrated comment.
*dindu nuffin.
It was mostly peaceful self defense.

Absolutely correct. But I wouldn't count on the court system following their own laws and rules at this point.
Also, jury of your "peers"...
Boy, what are the chances all those jurors were also poll workers?
Robert Barnes is a beast
Barnes is tha Man.
Good!! Took too long to dismiss. Now they need to drop all the rest of the charges against him.
Don't forget that every time you visit Twitter the leftists kill another fetus

Skateboarder was an idiot that pulled the barrel of a gun toward his chest.
Kyle doesn't even have to claim self-defense on that one, his lawyers will claim that wound was self-inflicted.
I thought the skateboarder hit Kyle then ran off and was shot in the back. Did I see the video wrong?

Oh ok. Then I guess he's good on that one too. I just saw him collapse and thought he was shot at that point.
He's on bail. Civil lawsuits and criminal lawsuits are different.
Damn so good many he has left just the criminal one now? I pray for this kid
Civil. Not criminal?
Yeah, Civil.
This needs more attention. updooting.
Thank god, the very definition of self defence was at risk here. It doesn't reverse the damage and abuse of politicians and journalists against him.
Das rite!!
What's the word, is he still being jerked around through the courts?
Erybody dane
Prayers answered.
Not advocating anything here, but seems like the guy who dropped 3 guys is gonna get off scott free, while those that protested peacefully in DC are not.
That seems to be advocacy for something.
It's called 'self defense', dick.
and what was done in DC was legal too.

good luck with that guy. "truth" to leftists is whatever fits their narrative and world view.
Kyle did drop them, and they deserved it. What I was trying to say was they want you to kill them for the least amount of persecution.
Good Lord Almighty, I'm not sure how to unpack that. In my ignorant estimation, they're all innocent and ought to walk with their heads held high.
Should. However, reality is.
It's very similar to how if someone trespasses on your property and you have castle doctrine, it's better to kill them so they can't sue or defend themselves in court.
Law enforcement will always go after easy targets.
