My brother's family in Houston has been without power and water since Sunday morning. Where the hell is FEMA with water for these poor people.

FEMA is hanging out with Bill Barr, Hunter, and Durham. Laughing at the rest us thinking that justice is right around the corner. Justice will come when we the people legally take back the USA.

Don't know, but maybe this can be of use:

As a member of this community for almost 5 years, I'm shocked by the lack of anything resembling compassion from most of these posts. Texans have always shown compassion towards other parts of the country that were experiencing disasters and tragedies.

From up here in Buckeye country, I am currently unable to give aid, and I'm more in shock that TEXAS of all places had such a heavy reliance on "green" energy. As much as I love dark humor, I can't seem to make a joke that doesn't feel like I'm just piling on more grief.

too busy dealing with covid to give a shit about you. dont depend on government for ANYTHING ANYMORE. get together with those in your community and figure out plans in case shit hits the fan like this. fuck the government. they are NOT there for you

The comments in this thread are very different than what I've come to expect from this place. OP posts in frustration, worrying about his family, and gets insulted for it?

You prepared and aren't having any issues? Good for you. Not everyone prepares for a snow storm in Texas. Cut people a break and have some empathy.

And it's a completely legitimate question too. The Governor and both senators have already asked for help. Where is it? Were Trump in office there would already be supplies on the ground, Food, water, generators, whatever, and the president would probably be there himself overseeing it. Where's Biden?

FEMA may be able to help hand out free ice to qualifying citizens (and non-citizens) but they aren't going to be able to much of anything else any faster or more efficiently than is being done by the state. During hurricane Ike we lost power for three weeks in the middle of an extremely hot and humid late summer. It was miserable as hell but Texan's have a way oof getting shit done and looking out for each other way better than a government agent ever did.

You realize Texas isn't the center of the universe right? You also realize that Texas isn't the entire United States, right?

Also, your Governor needs to ASK for federal aid, like FEMA. Your Governor can also deploy the National Guard to assist as they have supplies that they can give to communities.

So maybe ask him?

mintmint50 [S] 5 points ago +7 / -2

Excuse me - the governor has asked for federal aid.

What happens to ice when you melt it then boil it?

3
mintmint50 [S] 3 points ago +7 / -4

And how do you boil it when you don't have power and have run out of wood for the fireplace?

WildRiot -4 points ago +5 / -9

If you are that dumb, and have electrcity for your mobile phone, just google it

1
mintmint50 [S] 1 point ago +4 / -3

Who said they have electricity for their mobile phone? Are you that dumb that you can't read - I guess so.

Dude, it's like in the high 20's in Texas and the lows are in the low 20's. That's not even that fucking bad.

It's hitting past 32 degrees for most of the state tomorrow and it'll be in the high 40's-low 50's on Saturday.

Calm down. it's going to thaw. You don't realize how fast snow melts when it's 40 degrees out.

Dude - it was 7* in SE Texas Tuesday morning. Due to power outages, many people saw freezing temps inside their homes.

The coldness has already claimed over 20 people.

I've lived in Texas all my life, and this is the first time I've ever seen a snow/cold event keep the same snowfall intact on the ground for over 4 days. Today was the first day the temperature ventured up over 30* - but this was short lived. It's now back under 30, with more snow on the way.

It was -2* in Dallas that morning - temps not seen in 81 years.

NOTE: it does not need to be below freezing for hypothermia to set in.

Calm down? Are you serious? What is wrong with you? People need water because their pipes have been frozen since Sunday morning - yes it will thaw out by Saturday, but tell that to my 5 year year niece who is in fucking hell because they don't have water, there is no water at the grocery stores and the news is telling everyone to boil water but there is no power to boil water if you had any.

mintmint50 [S] 4 points ago +5 / -1

Once again, WELL THE HELL IS FEMA WITH SOME WATER FOR THESE POOR PEOPLE.

2
Duchess 2 points ago +2 / -0

Are people really freezing to death then, or it it just MSM propaganda? I honestly don't know anymore.

5
cook_does 5 points ago +5 / -0

I am here in Dallas, we have power now, we lost it for 13 hours Monday. I have a generator and never felt the impact. Most of my neighbors are dealing with frozen drains. In McKinney TX they are still without power. Our babysitter has been sleeping at her job every night because her apartment and her parents houses are both without power. It’s pretty serious in that you can’t find firewood, snow shovels, salt, snow chains, or even food

Quit your whining little handshake bitch. I am at a week with no power, you have nothing on me. I PREPARE for this shit. If your pussy brother has not prepared then too damn bad. It was not long ago that people lived like this full time. You will really hate life soon when civil war hits.

wtf is up with asswagons like you on this site lately? some tough guy? get a life loser bitch

THIS is what is going to be the death of America - the lack of mercy and compassion for one another. Empathy and lending the helping hand in mercy are hallmarks of both the American and the Christian character.

Yes - Americans are rugged individualists. No, Americans DON'T allow others - even the poorly prepped - to simply flounder and die.

One of these days it will be you caught short. You will claim it's not your fault.

Would you appreciate the same attitude you've just expressed - directed at you?

Wow. I'm shocked by this hateful comment.

GoodvsEvil2 -12 points ago +2 / -14

The people of the north laugh at you all hat no cattle.

5
T-Bear 5 points ago +6 / -1

Oooo...lookee here - another handshake account made just to troll and insult.

We'll see how well that works for ya in the north with the next heat wave.

And we all know that's going to hit the north one day - scorching high-humidity heat Texans are used to, but people in the north aren't.

Yet - instead of laughing at you and telling you to simply suck it up...we'll be the ones shipping A/C's, ice, water, and more relief supplies to get you back on your feet.

Because we Texans are just that way.

-2
GoodvsEvil2 -2 points ago +1 / -3

We get bursts of heat. We get bursts of 7 feet of snow, we get it all. What we dont get is juan and his gang building our infastructure like how they do in guatemala. Cold weather people > warm weather wimps.

1
T-Bear 1 point ago +1 / -0

Nearly every cold weather person that funnels through here wilts and withers in the Texas summer. Like you said - you get only bursts of heat. Here, we get 90* plus from early May until late September. 100*+ with high humidity is regular from June until September.

It's not the heat - it's the humidity that withers ya.

Those acclimated to cold are hot weather wimps. Those acclimated to hot are cold weather wimps. That's a fact, Jack.

No need to piss on people when the weather common to your own neighborhood makes an extended visit to places that don't see it but once in 80-100 years.

(https://www.iceagenow.info/) Good website. once the ice age hits im sure texas will be like up north with its weather swings. expect a bunch of cold weather warriors headed south in 1000 years lol.
