It's texas, we don't ever have extended cold weather like this. Never in my life have we seen freezing temps last more than a day or two, much less temps in the single digits or below 0. This is an unprecedented disaster. We dont have snow plows, salting the streets isn't common place, and people are just flat out used to wearing flip flops and tank tops all winter long (no kidding, trying to get my kids to realize how deadly the cold is right now was a struggle). Bottom line, our entire infrastructure isnt built for artic temps, especially in the large cities. Us rural folk are doing just fine, my family in the jam packed cities are not as fine. We can handle hurricanes, floods, fires, drought but throw snow and ice at us and most people don't know what to do. We will get through this, like texans do, helping each other the best we can! God bless Texas!
