Being proud of, for example, your Greek family heritage is another. One is focused on history and your forebears; the other on oneself for an immutable trait.

There's a difference between no shame and no guilt and even wanting your own race to do well (which are normal and healthy) and "pride" which is like giving yourself a pat on the back for being of a certain race or group. It would be nice if we could all fucking get over ourselves and our races, genders and whatever else. Nobody cares you're not special and it's not interesting to simply exist as a member of a large group.

It absolutely is an indoctrination. The irony is that the goal is to now do that with white identity- to have all these requirements that mainstream culture will enforce upon caucasians. Be an ally, be an anti-racist, buy from minority owned businesses, etc.
The bottom line to me is that not only is white identity kind of phony, so is black identity and asian identity. I mean even religious identities are kind of pretend. I'm a Christian but if I had to make a list of what that actually means and how it manifests itself politically it would be pretty limited. Basically I think people should have freedom of religion and I am against late term abortion but these positions aren't connected closely to my religious beliefs they are more based on constitutional principles of life, liberty and freedom.

In highschool back in 1994, me and some other Irish classmates went to start an Irish group....we were told no because that would be racist.
