We have an old dude in our neighborhood. Right across the street from an elementary school. He was convicted of inappropriate contact with a little girl under 10 years old. Due to some law in Michigan because he bought his house prior to 2006 he could remain there. You wouldn't believe the nextdoor comments defending this guy!!! Here in Ann Arbor. One particular leftist said that she had known him for several years and he has a lovely garden, don't be too hard on him!!!
