Then why bother posting this shit? Rush did more for the conservative movement with his time on the radio than you will ever do posting garbage like this. Go stand in the corner and say 100 Hail Rush's.

I know you’re trolling, but “hail rush”?

Im not denigrating his contributions, I’m just saying that he is not a hero, he was just a eloquent speaker for a cause you happen to endorse

I wouldn’t equate him to a soldier sacrificing himself for god and country ... so the word hero ... might be a bit over used.

Yeah. The word "hero" should be reserved. Overuse diminishes the meaning.

It's the very first part of your statement that explains why you and many others disagree.

Don’t worship faulty human flesh you will be disappointed

That is called a non sequitur. While the statement is true, it does not connect to the initial statement.

I personally do not Worship Rush and he made it clear he did not want or expect to be worshiped. Calling him a hero does not imply worship to me. I do not worship heroes.

I am uncomfortable with the commonly used GEOTUS language because of the First two letters. But I have to realize gaming has distorted the meaning of god and emperor from all that they historically meant.

That’s just a long way of agreeing with me ... don’t worry you don’t have to admit it ...

2
Marshall2 2 points ago +2 / -0

If that is agreeing with you, I certainly didn't understand your prose.

And you don't need to . Its a free country. Thanks for sharing.

That is a reasonable response ... thank you

You ignore the spiritual realm and them you think you are waxing eloquent.

Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Yeah but when we start the cult of rush or any political figure for that matter... we are not deifying “spiritual forces” but faulty humans

By remembering a idealized version of a person, you’re dehumanizing him

I’m not here to denigrate or tarnish his memory, but I won’t use the words hero or saint ...

It's not cultish to respect and admire a leader with courage and vision. Its not worship to mourn his passing. No one is saying that the good things is the entirety of the man. I remember the scandals too. However the fact remains that we lost someone who was truly unique and intelligent and grasped the world in a way that few do. I would encourage you to listen to his show, take 5 or 6 consecutive episodes from each decade and listen. You will be better for it and I think if you had that experience this post would be far different. If a family member passes away you won't be at the church memorializing their flaws and weaknesses and reminding everyone that they yelled at their kids that one time or smoked pot behind the church. You remember the entirety of the person and the impact they had on the world and those around them. He had a life that impacted many more than you or I most likely will. And his impact was largely good, so we mourn his passing. That is all, have a good day.

Thank you, I will ... but I’ll listen like I listen to any journalist, very suspicious of its biases and agendas

I rarely listened to him. I've heard him since the 80's, but never really pursued listening. I took him for granted.

2
Marshall2 2 points ago +2 / -0

It was your loss then and silence would be a better reaction for the ignorant.

Fuck you, I don't have to be silent. I just said I took him for granted. You can now kiss my ass.
