It's not cultish to respect and admire a leader with courage and vision. Its not worship to mourn his passing. No one is saying that the good things is the entirety of the man. I remember the scandals too. However the fact remains that we lost someone who was truly unique and intelligent and grasped the world in a way that few do. I would encourage you to listen to his show, take 5 or 6 consecutive episodes from each decade and listen. You will be better for it and I think if you had that experience this post would be far different. If a family member passes away you won't be at the church memorializing their flaws and weaknesses and reminding everyone that they yelled at their kids that one time or smoked pot behind the church. You remember the entirety of the person and the impact they had on the world and those around them. He had a life that impacted many more than you or I most likely will.
