Clear case of self defense, Kyle was being chased! He is seen turning around the defend himself while fleeing.

This is just the civil suit. Not the criminal.

It's nice he's not getting sued, but he's still in danger of going away for life and if he's convicted, he's going away for life. They'll never let him out.

And if he gets found not guilty, someone is going to find him and try to kill him.

One way or another, his life is effectively over. He won't be able to go to college, he won't be able to get married, he won't be able to have children, he won't be able to get a job. He will be followed for the rest of his life and he'll be hounded without reprieve. There is no getting around that. No one is going to hire him, no one is going to let him enroll in school, no one is going to let him go in the military, no one is going to date or marry him. He's screwed one way or another.

The burden of proof for the prosecution is higher in criminal court than civil court. It must be unanimous for a murder conviction. Kyle appears to have decent representation. Totally winnable, unless you get a jury full of antifa. One thing to watch for is if they do proceed with the criminal case, will the judge allow it to be televised. If so, this would help the prosecution greatly as pressure would be put on the jurors (death threats, media pressure, etc..).
