So what you are saying is that it is working as intended?

Social media is cancer. More unhealthy than tobacco.

What if I told you tobacco really isn't that bad for you? Don't believe me, look at the correlation between smoking rates in this country and lung cancer over the last few decades, one has gone down drastically and the other is still going strong.

Not saying it's not a bad habit but it has definitely been the scapegoat for something much worse. Personal opinion from some deep web stuff I read, nuclear testing in the 60's.

Oh it's certainly overblown. And likely it's the shit they add to the paper etc that's awful. Inhaling the smoke of fire retardant paper cannot be good for you.

If the average human has 5% odds of getting cancer, and cigarettes increase that risk by 20%, that may sound super scary, but in reality it means you now have a 6% chance of getting cancer. Big woop.

Facebook, Parler, etc are definitely worse for you than a little bit of cancer.

The biggest issue with smoking is cumulative effects. It's possible to be a smoker and be pretty healthy if you do everything else right. I've always said you are allowed one vice as long as you do the other meta things correctly.

Heh, very similar to advice I've lived by: never do more than one illegal thing at a time.
