And blacks. Blacks owned a traded slaves. Fact! First black millionaire in US was a black slave trader. Fact! At one point there may have been more Irish slaves than black on this continent. Fact!

They attack this 'myth' with particular ferocity. Indentured servants were treated like garbage, but if you mention it, prepare for a fight.

Irish slaves were here first...mostly women and children...and Irish slaves were treated worse than black slaves when they finally did arrive.

I hate to be picky but towards the end of America slavery there were almost 4% of us that owned slave(s). That's still 96% of us that are totally innocent of all charges.

Um, no. "Hate to be picky but" 100% of us weren't alive when slavery (in this context) ended so 100% of us are innocent of these charges.

Another important point would be that the majority of white people in this country can trace their ancestry as arriving here AFTER the civil war. The majority of people have no ties to it and it is blatantly racist to suggest that we do.

Correct 95%of today's Americans don't have a single slave owning ancestor. Not one

True, but many of our ancestors (including mine) came to the US after slavery ended.

Professor Gates ( yeah the guy from the infamous beer summit, has a pretty goid summary on the trans Atlantic slave trade ). He claims that less than one in twenty people alive in America today had a single slave owning ancestor. So better than 95% of the population have no slave owning ancestors, but ironically our " black " VP does.

If by ‘us’ you mean White people, I’d encourage you to look at the actual ethnic breakdown of US slave owners. You’ll find that, while many may have had light skin, they weren’t White at all.

Even though they made up less than 2% of the population, 40% of all those that did own slaves were "fellow Whites".
