The ONLY way I could possibly consider reparations would be if it was set up lawsuit style, where a proven descendant of slavery can prove that they are still suffering injury sues the estate of the person who caused the injury.
I'm like you, every one of my ancestors arrived decades after slaver was ended. We had zero benefit, we had no wrongdoing, we shouldn't have to pay.
If your great great great great grandpa had a plantation and passed wealth down the generations, but your grandpa blew it all on hookers and coke, then you haven't benefitted either. You shouldn't have to pay.
In reality though, reparations are already paid in full. Besides the blood of over 600k Americans, there is the lifetime net tax contributions. Average for whites is about 120k, average for blacks is about -740k. In other words, The average black person in America receives well over 700K in benefits from the government in a lifetime. It would actually be a good fiscal policy to offer a one time $200k payout and a one way plane ticket to any black person who renounces their citizenship. Would save 500K per person.

I am game for them under the following conditions:
No more welfare, SNAP, HUD vouchers/housing, Earned Income Credits, Disability checks & WIC. Add Pell grants into that. Basically, no government gibs except for Social Security retirement benefits. No Medicare/Medicaid. No more handouts from government social programs. This includes all including children.
All back child support paid in full before $$ is released. All court fines/restitution paid in full before $$ released. All back taxes paid in full before $$ is released.
No more affirmative action or quotas. No more lawsuits claiming racism.
Not to mention:
Medicaid
Section 8 Housing
Obamaphones
Breakfast, lunch and dinner to students
The housing crisis
Tuition debt cancellation. 62% of the college debt is black owned.
Contributions to HBCUs-The COVID omnibus had a $25m going to Howard
There is probably more in the public domain and that not even considering how much has been given in the private sector. Consider every Christmas giving tree donations, Toys for Tots etc.

I can't imagine many African-Americans would take the 200K to go somewhere they could not play the "world owes me a living" card.
