When she won, Mitch, McStain, & all the GOP establishment realized she was a threat they needed to eliminate. So they asked her to be McStain's VP. They never had any real intention of trying to win in 2008, but they knew she would go all-in. She accepted, and they fed her and her entire family to the media wolves.
