Here in my city if you get robbed they report it as "lost property" and the police will , if they feel like it and you go to the station , sign an insurance form for you. Doesn't matter if you saw the suspect take your property, it is " lost ". Be prepared to get shit if you insist on bothering them with an incident report. So great news, property theft is way down, but dang people sure are losing alot of stuff.
