I have a few guns throughout the house as well but usually just keep one on my person and that be that. Legit question, do you think with having so many guns around (especially if they're in clear view) that it's possible an intruder sees one, grabs it, and now they can use it against you? I'm not trolling, I have legitimately thought about what the balance is between having guns around ready to use and risk having someone else use them if they're out in the open. My solution thus far has been to always have one on me and then it doesn't matter where I'm at or where an intruder comes from.
Depends heavily on the gun. I also have a few around the house, not in plain view but accessible, but no intruder would get the drop on me with one because none of them have a round chambered and they are all on safe. I know to load the chamber and hit the safety when I pick them up, but I doubt an intruder would be as well versed on my firearms as I am and would likely just pick one up and harmlessly point it at me. Even if they did go to chamber a round, that's all the time I would need to either get to them or GTFO before they are able to shoot me with an unfamiliar gun.
And if I get unlucky and my gun is exactly like theirs, well, shit happens sometimes and that's a risk I'm willing to take.
