Texas has seen no help from fema or red cross. Not one fucking ounce of help. We are Freezing, We have No Water, No Power, No Internet. Grocery Stores are empty, cant find anything.

Now This Story Comes Out On Our Local Fake News.... https://abc13.com/weather/fema-sending-60-generators-to-texas-amid-power-outages-/10349070/... But if you read story it seems like they are more worried about vaccine spots. This is now going on 5 days and they are talking of sending food and water and supplies and Generators... Wtf where the hell has all this shit been... Still Have Not Seen Anything.

Texas can't claim to be self sufficient by talking secession then cry and bitch when the feds don't help.

We don’t normally have weather like this. It’s very rare. It’s difficult to be prepared when we aren’t used to this shit. People are dying.

It’s difficult to be prepared when we aren’t used to this shit.

This is literally the problem prepping solves.

You don't need like 3 years of freeze dried Patriot Chow and 15krd of 556 in your garage, just have like basic shit to live normally for a couple weeks to a month.

I keep saying we need a prepping sub forum here.

Dude. Cmon. Not everyone can burn $1000 on a generator when they haven't seen these temps in 150 years.

tholins 6 points ago +6 / -0

Prepping is al well and good, but it doesn’t do jack shit for you when your pipes aren’t insulated.

Honestly, the major component of this is the fact that our infrastructure isn’t geared to handle below freezing temps. Everything else is secondary.

Also, the news likes to focus on all the welfare cases crying about how they don’t have water. That’s entirely on those people.

Yeah, Texans are kinda showing their weak side. I live in ND and it freezes here a lot. Sometimes our water will Freeze, sometimes power outages. But generally, even at -30 people are still out doing their life and working.

Only time it really stops is under white out conditions.

True. But the flipside is that if the federal government doesn't provide assistance, "ability to secede" remains intact.

What people have died? I keep seeing people posting this. Fuck, as a child who was dirt poor in Ohio I remember many winters where we had no heat and barely any food. I've never seen anyone ever go crying that we were dying.

5
magadommer 5 points ago +6 / -1

one article i read was because they left the car running in the garage as a heat source, killed 2 from carbon monoxide. so there's that.

Darkheartisland 5 points ago +5 / -0

People are dying and it's all Bidens fault. Where is he?

The last time it snowed in my area, was back in 2017. Before that, I was still in elementary school. I'm 34 now.

Its super rare that this part of Texas gets snow, especially 2 times within a week.

Not once have I ever needed a generator since living here, and now i'm being told I should have "prepared".

Its like telling someone who lives in a desert to bring a snow plow.

Its like telling someone who lives in a desert to bring a snow plow.

No it's like telling someone who lives in a desert to get a generator, because power ain't 100% reliable anywhere.

This has me already thinking ahead to spring. What if we had a really nasty storm or a tornado barrel through my neighborhood?

I already have lots of non-perishables and supplies at home. When the dust settles I'll look into getting my own generator, solar power USB chargers, and a few other things.

You realize most people who are in real trouble because of this are single moms who live in cities, many of them in apartment buildings. Where the fuck are they going to keep a generator?

Quit being a fucking retard.

I’m sorry it’s rough for you, but I have never been mugged, robbed, jumped, targeted in any way. Still carry a gun every day. Also generators are good for any power outages. Not just snow. Don’t count on any one saving you from anything. Side note we should probably all buy snow plows. The radical left has been screaming global warming for thirty years so we can probably safely assume we are slipping into another ice age.

Not in my area.

I live in central Texas. Every time there is a hurricane, we just get rain.

We have flash floods, but I live on a hill and this area has never flooded.

The only thing I would say is a big weather issue would be tornados. But I havent seen one of those in years. Last one that was here was like 6 or 7 years ago. Never lost power, just some nasty rain.

14
Jghou 14 points ago +15 / -1

We have generators too... hurricane season it's not uncommon to go days even weeks without power. This one is different though. Some people might be crying, that will be true for any community, but the majority of us are just pissed and venting. Most people really can't justify preparing their homes, cars, pipes, etc. for an an event that happens once every 20 years maybe.

I mean most of it is just like "use antifreeze in the car rather than plain hose water" (you should anyways because it's got corrosion inhibitors and shit) and "put that split foam tube around pipes in the crawlspace". Not like it's a lot of money or even effort.

Maybe now they can justify spending a weekend and a couple hundred bucks doing it!

2
Jghou 2 points ago +2 / -0

I don't know a single person who uses water instead of antifreeze... I have insulated pipes in the attic that burts. Not much you can do when indoor temperature gets to the teens for days straight. A few hundred bucks wasn't going to prevent this. Pex pipes would run me about $15000. Kinda gets hard to justify that when I'm over 30 years old and this is the longest cold snap I've ever seen in my side of town ever. Yes we've had hard freezes before but not this cold for this long. I'm estimating my damage to around $10000. It's hard justifying spending thousands of dollars for something I might never see again for another 30 years.

This happened in 2014 when North Texas was iced down in the Superbowl and 3 million had no power for 3 days, some for a week.

People's memories are short.

Jghou 0 points ago +1 / -1

North Texas gets snow every year, Dallas is a 4.5 hour drive from me. I can drive to Florida faster than I can get to Amarillo. Snow and ice in Dallas isn't uncommon. We didn't see any of that over here. People underestimate how big Texas is.

The point is they're bringing Texas to heel.

1
America1stAndOnly 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's going to backfire. This event is showing Texans that the forced green energy regulations from the federal government sabotaged them, and then the very same government wouldn't even help them out when they needed it. What Texans are being shown right now is that they are receiving no benefits from being part of the country and only penalties. Why would they stick around?

This is downright idiotic logic. Texans absolutely can and should speak up because they pay loads of federal taxes. When the Feds don’t do their jobs with that money, that’s even more of an impetus to secede. It’s further proof that the Federal gov’t isn’t worth the trouble.

If I pay you to fix my car and you don’t fix it but take my money anyways, only a complete fucking cucked faggot wouldn’t speak up about that.

3
America1stAndOnly 3 points ago +3 / -0

Thank you! Finally someone else here gets it. This event will only encourage secession, not discourage it.

-3
christianknight -3 points ago +3 / -6

They should stop paying the taxes then. And actually put their money where their mouth is for once. But as we can see by the whining, they have no money, just mouth.

This sub has become nothing but Texas hate. It has been over-run with libtard shills. This sub can go fuck itself. No other Trump supporting website is doing this shit.

1
CashMAGA 1 point ago +2 / -1

I think they hate you 'cause they ain't you.

Arizona, my state, deserves a lot more lambasting than we've been getting. We've been such shit since the election. At least you guys in Texas properly held the line.

1
RegularAmerican 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's the arrogance. Were all in the same boat. Some people in the texas row are still going "fuck grabbing a bucket to bail water, it's all on your side of the boat."

Now to watch them go through what they claimed to be above is poetic justice.

-1
ObamasLooseButthole -1 points ago +3 / -4

We don't hate Texas, we're just laughing at you not having basic preparations for losing power. Losing power isn't a winter thing, it can happen at anytime so people should already have generators and the like ready to go.

3
Tejas_Pepe 3 points ago +4 / -1

Yeah, nobody in Texas has a generator. You are a true fucking retard.

17
oldhankdonald 17 points ago +17 / -0

They are paying federal taxes so they should be getting emergency treatment. You’d have a point if they could stop paying the Fed. If the Fed is withholding funds to make Texas look bad, then secession really does make sense.

1
RegularAmerican 1 point ago +1 / -0

What can they really do tho? I think they should subsidize energy prices for heating during times like this myself. But I remember the power going out in half of LA county like ten years ago. There was no FEMA. The locals managed the problem. Socal Edison, Henkels& McCoy PGE that's when they earn those huge paychecks.

1
oldhankdonald 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don’t think the government should help at all with power restoration or subsidizing energy costs. I meant for the people who can’t get water, food, or are freezing to death. That humanitarian aspect is like any other natural disaster. Many people experience 1-2week outages every decade or so but if they’re is an issue getting water and food, the utilities can only do so much. And yes - getting power to water plants and sewer lift stations and such are the top priority.
