Forgive me for not giving a fuck if Ted Cruz went to Cancun considering my democrat representative (Bob Menendez) goes to South America to fuck underage hookers.
While you guys might be OK with what Cruz has done, I am not. If he were truly a leader, he would be here trying to get us help. We are 5 days now with no power and no water; where the fuck is the Red Cross, where the fuck is FEMA, what the fuck are our supposed leaders doing to help. Ted Cruz is a fucking opportunist and will say whatever he thinks you want to hear. Surely this will help to redpill a few. It has certainly confirmed for me who Ted Cruz is.
First, Ted's comments on Trump are most telling, so yeah, he appears to be a bit of a snake.
That being said, his statement appears (again, appears) to be quite convincing: children wanted to go to Cancun with friends, he accompanied them, it was a planned trip, and he's coming back right away.
Finally, the fact that United leaked his itinerary to the MSM and lefties are salivating over this "incident" arguably confirms that it is blown out of proportion.

I don't understand why people like pretending their politicians are military generals who join their soldiers on the field of battle. Politicians are cowardly bureaucrats. Of course he's going to Cancun. It's expected. People are outraged over the weirdest shit. Yes, water is wet. Yes your politician is going to leave a disaster zone and go where it's warmer.
It’s bad optics, sure. But as a Texan I truly don’t give a fuck. I’m sure he’s done all he can do from a federal level. If he had a trip planned so be it. I just took a honeymoon to the Caribbean during a pandemic and couldn’t give less of a fuck.
There's nothing for him to do. It's gonna be back in the 60s by the weekend. It's up to the state to uncuck the commission that regulates their electric grid.
