Texan here, lucky enough to live a red city so we aren't boiling our water (yet.) We've had power outages all week, some rolling some really severe. There's a neighborhood here that hasn't had power since Sunday. Most people's lights have been on today.
We have a crisis developing here too though- clean water.
Everyone's pipes are frozen, more people everyday. It's gotten to be so bad that I only know one person who still has both power and running water. We're all melting snow to flush our toilets. The person I know with water is letting people fill jugs up at her house. Grocery stores are limiting purchases of water.
The thaw won't happen tomorrow, I don't think. The NWS is predicting temps will only be above zero for a couple of hours. We still have two days of this left and I'm becoming concerned people are getting sick. We can't shower, can't wash our clothes, can't wash our hands (hand sanitizer can only do so much.)
Where is FEMA? This is turning in a Katrina situation.
I'm not sure what the hell they think Cruz is supposed to do about it. If I could be in Cancun right now I damn sure would. No electricity, no water, all electric, no fireplace - 40 degrees in my house, but damn, it's not Ted's fault, nor could he fix it.

They just want another excuse to go after him, and they're trying to pressure him into resigning so they can get a RINO to replace him. Anyone that legitimately believes there are things Ted can personally do to get Texas out of this situation as a United States Senator needs a civics lesson.
There is no federal legislation that needs to be passed to make this go away, Biden already has the power, and if it's not being used, we already know why it isn't being used. The media did a fluff piece about Biden playing Mario Kart last Sunday, but if Trump were still in the White House playing golf around the same time, the MSM would have crucified him while Twitter would bring the cat o'nine tails.

I only get mad at dem senators for traveling because they tell us peasants we can’t. Anyone should be able to travel freely. If Ted were governor I’d be pissed at him because the governor is actually in charge of the state’s emergency response. Senators only make laws in congress.

No - mobile home so neither is possible if I want to keep it insured. It'll be okay....but thank you for your comment - it is appreciated.
How do you have a mobile home without a generator? And if it's mobile, can't you move it?
We have a generator but it can only do so much. Also double wide mobile home (aka manufactured home) and no, we can't just move it.
Is a park regulation thing? If not you could put a small one under the unit and seal the crawlspace. That would keep the floor nice and warm.
