Wouldn't try. I navigate by assuming the opposite of what they say is true. Then when I say the opposite to myself and it makes no sense to anyone whatsoever then I know they are saying what they actually mean.

For example, "We will change this country fundamentally forever." Ok the opposite: we will never change this country. OK that makes no sense for someone to say that and therefore they mean and intend exactly what they said.
