Have you ever asked yourself what takes the pictures of the mars rover from 12 feet away on Mars? It's a production for your imagination and that's about it. A little production costs and the rest is pure profit. Same old story for everything we know here on earth.
Those photos are taken from a boom arm that sticks out from the Rover. Gravity is weaker there, in case that seems strange. There is wind but not like here.
Some of it is scientific need to see the machine, and yes, some is pure theater for the people who pay for it, and want some jollies out of it. That's ok. I'm one of them and I enjoy it hugely.
A river with a selfie stick and you don't see the joke in that? A stuck up robot that gets more clicks if it takes selfies just so your mind is conditioned that it's actually there. Come on man. It's like the pictures from ISS that alway's has a small piece of a solar panel in the shot. It's conditioning for your mind to believe and nothing more. I think it's funny how people believe government does nothing but lie to them yet they are willing to believe that a bunch is scientists brought over from Germany, (Nazis) under project paper clip is telling you the truth. O.K. you go right on believing.....
Yes it's programming, to give some fun and identification to those who pay for it. That's fine.
It's not quite JUST for my interest, they are not sorry to see how the machine is positioned, how it is weathering, and the ground and view around it and in the background.
Yes, I am quite programmed to fund space missions. I just plain enjoy them. And I am aware there is much military implication too.
I could show you dozens of videos of people using types of cameras where it looks like the camera is being held by another person. This is actually rather common.

So a robot with a selfie stick just so it can take pictures of itself? And you don't see the programming here?
