I'm Canadian and I don't have a problem with our power grid being intertwined with America's. We sell a LOT of electricity to the USA, and because of the USA's sheer size, we get a more stable grid than if Canada were by ourselves. This is all based on geography and trust. I'd imagine southern border states must be tied into Mexico's system to some extent.
THERE IS NO REASON FOR ANYONE OUTSIDE OF NORTH AMERICA TO BE CONNECTED TO OUR GRID
