Grid is independent, but the EPA stuff is not. The limit put in place was a blanket thing to limit pollution. So this limit effects oil, coal, and gas power plants. The request was to the Department of Energy to allow Texas power plants to bypass these limits. Just more fuel for the Texit movement.
