I can confirm that this is what they teach in journalism schools. News is now storytelling. I cringed so hard when I was getting my degree. The masters program I went through was called news and advanced storytelling. 9/10 journalists are brain dead morons and work is a soul sucking experience if you're trying to do the right thing and report basic facts.
