Has it? Multiple heads of state have expressed disapproval (and those are powerful enemies to have). Countries have introduced laws to curb their power, and more will certainly follow (including the U.S.). No empire lasts forever, and I think FB has severely shortened its tenure at the top of the social media pyramid by overplaying its hand. Virtually every empire in the history of the world has eventually fallen, and so too will FB/Twitter./Youtube media.
So far it’s been working well for them... and after the recent election even I am convinced it will work for them in the future 😅
