Except I'm sitting in Florida. Right now. Born in this state and only left when I joined the military. So no, not all "American Egalitarians" support the nonsense that's destroyed out society.

What you are confusing are people that believe in "equality" and egalitarians. A lot of people flat out don't understand what words actually mean, so they just say they're something that they aren't. Most people on the street will say they're for equity disguised as "equality" because they don't want to actually think about anything and it feels like the better answer. That's not an egalitarian no matter what they claim to be.

The other problem is one that I already mentioned. marxists pretending to be something they aren't to change terms to fit their motives which leads to regular people being confused and conflating terms. That's why I'm saying that you're most likely talking to marxists when they are overly open about being "egalitarians" because they want to destroy the term just like they've destroyed liberal and progressive.

Your idea of what it means to be egalitarian is a old quaint notion that has not existed in decades in the US. and certainly not in major urban centers like NYC, LA, D.C. etc.

I suggest you start quizzing so called "liberals" around you. See if they identify with the word egalitarian without you giving them your description of it. Then quiz them on their beliefs.
