Stop relying on the Federal government to help you. Create a State agency and get control.

Great point. States should be able to take care of themselves.

Before Cali ruins our state with Blue voters. It's coming. Austin is the hub.

Most of us not in the big cities don't want the government anywhere near this.

Where I live a bunch of us actually contacted the mayor and told her to keep FEMA out of the city and we'd solve our own problems. For the most part, we have.

It might be EPA regulations that prevented the state from generating the power it needed for the weather conditions. https://patriots.win/p/12hRZddwc5/feds-killed-people-of-texas-deli/

It's also possible that gas fired generators were fuel starved because the compressors used in gas pipelines were converted to electric because of emissions regulations. Those compressors previously ran on gas from the pipelines. Some of those compressors may have lost power and caused cascading failures.

More information is coming out pretty regularly.

My understanding, coming from a friend who is a higher up at one of the power companies out here, is that the problem started when ERCOT had to ask for permission to crank up generation and didn't get a timely response from the federal government. By the time they were moving to get things running, the situation was already deteriorating.

Said friend and myself, along with a few others, are currently working to get ahold of our state rep so we can make sure that ERCOT is run by true Texans who wouldn't wait for permission to do the right thing.

Yeah. Here's what I posted in another thread:

It appears it was requested some time on the 12th, and granted around 9 PM EST on the 14th.

Issued in Washington, D.C. at 8:51 PM Eastern Standard Time on this 14th day of February, 2021.

I'm not sure the request wasn't made sooner than the 12th. The 12th is the earliest date mentioned in the document though. I thought the power situation started to deteriorate on the 9th or earlier.

One of the recently appointed ERCOT directors who resides in Michigan may have helped to create the Flint water crisis.

Well, since they are ignoring us and treating us like we don’t exist, I guess we shall proceed to secede

Trump should totally shame Biden by going down and helping.

Time to be self reliant. You cannot depend on the commie government to help when they are too busy letting in illegals and supporting them with our taxpayer money while we suffer.

My area of Texas is back to business as usual minus some water in some places. We'll be back up to 100% by the end of the week it looks like. Just have to boil water until the pressure is returned to normal and the pipes that burst get repaired.

Sun is out, lawn is green, power never went out.

Stay warm everyone else.
