They won't let you evict tenants for non-payment during the pandemic because "housing is a human right" but if you don't pay your taxes you can be damn sure they're going to take your home.

Yep. Buying a house to avoid renting? Tough, you're just renting from the government and the banking systems now.

I don't regret buying, but I do have to be honest and acknowledge I'm still throwing money away in property tax and mortgage interest. For me it's about $350/mo, so it's still better than the $1200/mo I'd be paying to rent my house.
